(CareerUP)

YMCA CareerUp Programme 

CareerUP is a career development programme designed for individuals aged 18 to 35, equipping them with the mindset, skills, and networks needed to thrive in today’s evolving workforce.

 

Through one-to-one mentorship, hands-on workshops, practical career guidance, networking opportunities and financial bursaries, CareerUP empowers participants to take charge of their career journeys and make informed, confident decisions about their future. Beyond individual growth, the programme fosters a spirit of giving back, encouraging participants to embrace a pay-it-forward mindset and contribute meaningfully to future generations.

Programme Highlights

Financial Disbursement

  • Eligible participants can receive up to $5,000 to support their growth and career development journey.


Workshops and Networking Opportunities

  • Discover your strengths, develop your skills, broaden your perspectives, and connect with industry professionals.


1-1 Mentorship 

  • Receive tailored feedback and personalised guidance from AIM-certified mentors to unlock your potential.


Hear from HR managers and recruiters 

  • Hear directly from HR managers and recruiters about what they look out for and what it takes to stand out.


Learn how to thrive at work 

  • Gain practical insights and skills to navigate the workplace, build professional confidence, and understand what it takes to succeed in different industries.


Onsite Learning journey  

  • Step into real companies and see how they operate 
  • Build essential workplace skills — communication, handling feedback, managing expectations, and teamwork to transition confidently from campus to corporate life.


Pay it forward 

  • Be part of a community that supports one another. Give back to future batches through financial contributions, mentorship or ideas— and continue the cycle of growth.

Who is CareerUP for?

  • Singaporean / PR
  • Between 18-35 years old
  • Currently enrolled in University Education
  • Required financial support OR who may not be supported 100%
  • Especially welcoming final year university students

Screening Criteria

  • Proven commitment ability (e.g. through employment / CCA / academic)
  • Proven achievements (e.g. earned salary / promotion / CCA / academic)
  • Minimum passing GPA
  • Review using the FOUR Tiers of Per Capita Income (PCI) & Gross Household Income (GHI)

What is Pay It Forward?

Pay It Forward is about giving back when you’re able. Instead of repaying support upfront, participants contribute a small portion of their future income once they are working, using their progress and success to create opportunities for the next generation—building a sustainable cycle of support, responsibility, and community impact.
