YMCA In The News 2026

We would like to share that YMCA Youth For Causes (YFC) team Liberi and team Empawthy had been featured on ZbComma, Lianhe Zaobao’s school publication.

In the article, it shares how Project Liberi managed to raise funds of more than $2,000 with the various fundraising initiatives such as sports fest, movie screening and merch sale. Through these initiatives, the project team had raised awareness of the struggles that children with incarnated parents faced.

The article also highlighted Project Empawthy, which focused on raising awareness about abused and neglected dogs in Singapore with a children’s illustration book, which served as a creative way to communicate their message.

Both teams demonstrated how small actions can generate a ripple effect within the community, gradually building greater support for their cause.

Since its inception in 2003, YMCA’s Youth For Causes has empowered youths aged 15 to 25 to champion causes close to their hearts. Through the programme, participants conceptualise and lead ground-up projects that raise awareness, mobilise volunteers, and generate funds for Social Service Agencies (SSAs). Beyond impact on beneficiaries, YFC nurtures a new generation of socially conscious leaders equipped with the values, skills, and confidence to contribute meaningfully to society.

We hope this feature will inspire more youths to step forward and be part of YFC, and encourage SSAs to partner with us in co-creating impactful initiatives. To know more about Youth For Causes, click here: https://ymca.org.sg/youths/#youth-causes.
