YMCA’s Vocational and Soft Skills Programme (VaSSP) was presented with the World YMCA Meaningful Work Impact Award at the 2024 YMCA Accelerator Summit in Mombasa, Kenya. This global accolade acknowledged the organisation’s efforts in empowering youth-at-risk through practical skills and values-driven development, affirming its role as a leader in inclusive and meaningful youth work.
YMCA of Singapore received accreditation under the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) scheme, which recognises companies that pay fair and progressive wages to lower-wage workers. Administered by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), this accreditation affirms our commitment to fair wages, skills development, and career growth for our workers.
YMCA of Singapore received the Enabling Mark (Silver) by SG Enable in April 2021. YMCA of Singapore is now recognised with a national-level accreditation framework by SG Enable that benchmarks and recognises employers for their best practices and outcomes in disability-inclusive hiring.
YMCA of Singapore won the Charity Transparency Award 2019 in the Large Charities category. The Charity Transparency Awards, organised by the Charity Council, recognises charities of good disclosure practices that the Charity Transparency Framework (CTF) recommends.

YMCA of Singapore won the Charity Governance Award 2013 in the Large Charities category. The annual Charity Governance Award recognises charities that have adopted the highest standards of governance. Introduced in 2012, it is an initiative of the Charity Council and held in partnership with the NUS Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy. The award aims to promote good governance in the charity sector by acknowledging the excellent work of charities, while inspiring others to emulate their best practices.
The YMCA of Singapore received this special mention from the National Council of Social Service in recognition of its efforts in serving the community by partnering with VWOs and self-help groups locally and overseas to enhance their services to the beneficiaries through delivery of structured and sustained community service programmes. YMCA is also partnering with corporate organisations to rally resources for VWOs to benefit their beneficiaries.
YMCA was conferred the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre’s (NVPC) Outstanding Non-Profit Organisation Award at the National Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards 2008. The awards honour those who have set excellence in encouraging the spirit of giving in Singapore. The Outstanding Non-Profit Organisation award recognises YMCA’s best practices in volunteer and donor management, fundraising and corporate governance.
As an acknowledgement of YMCA’s 105 years of service to the community, the National Parks Board named a new orchid hybrid, “Dendrobium YMCA” on 19 November 2007. The robust, free flowering hybrid reflects the work sustained over the years by the YMCA and its volunteers in touching lives and lifting spirits in the community.
YMCA received the NVPC Non-Profit Organisation Award for Philanthropy Management at the National Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards 2007. The Philanthropy Management award recognises YMCA’s best practices in donor management and fundraising.
