Ms Wu Mei Ling is the General Secretary & CEO of YMCA of Singapore, stewarding the organisation’s mission in serving and impacting all members of the community, regardless of race, language or religion. Together with her team, they envision building inter-generational and lifelong commitment, amongst young people as well as partners and members of YMCA, to serve and impact communities.  

Mei Ling's involvement in the social service sector spanned more than 30 years. Starting as a youth volunteer, Mei Ling found her calling in social work practice and later moved onto management positions. She was appointed as General Secretary and CEO of the YMCA of Singapore in April 2022.  

Other than managing non-profits, Mei Ling had also served on various national committees and was involved in international consultancies. These included Singapore Association of Social Workers Executive Committee, National Social Work Competency Framework Steering Committee, Youth Corps Singapore Advisory Committee and Committee on Pathways and Opportunities in Applied Education. Her international engagements included providing consultancy to the Career Education and Counselling Division, Ministry of Education, Bhutan, in 2010. 

Building on her extensive experience across the social service, youth, and education sectors, she brings commitment, vision and cross-sector expertise to advance YMCA’s initiatives. Her decades-long stewardship in the social service sector has been recognised through numerous accolades, including the Outstanding Social Worker Award in 2012, designation as a Social Service Fellow (2016–2019), Tote Board Overseas Scholarship in 2017 and Friends of MCCY in 2024. She was also nominated for The Singapore Women’s Weekly Great Women of Our Time – Education and Public Service in 2013. 

Working closely with her team, they are strengthening YMCA of Singapore towards its next phase of growth. Their efforts had been recognised through the inaugural World YMCA Impact Award 2024, Enabling Mark (Silver) by SG Enable, 2024 and 2026, The Straits Times Best Employers, 2025 and 2026, and Progressive Wage Mark, 2024 and 2025.
